another student loan question

I know I have to carry a courseload of 6 credits to be halftime student and eligible for student loans and deferment. I know that I have 6 months of leeway before having to pay if I drop below that. But...

what if I take 3 credit hours in the spring, and 3 credit hours in the summer. What will happen?

Re: another student loan question

Unless 3 credit hours is considered to be at least 1/2 time at your school, then you will have to begin paying back your loans once your 6 mth grace period is up.  Based on the terms you specify, this would probably start in July.  However, if you go back to at least half time that fall, you would again be able to defer the loans.

Re: another student loan question

If you go out of the deferment period, you can also go back to an in-school deferment (no limit) once you go back to full or part-time.
