help with sallie mae...

i have a studen tloan that i did a forbearance on last year and my payments are due in febuary but the payment is way more than i can afford each month.  what can i do because i don't want to do another forebearance and make more interest on it ($4,000 is what they added ).   i just want to start paying on it.  is there a way to get rid of the interest or something?  i am trying to get this bill taken care of but with the new payment i cant do it,

help please..................................!!!!!!!

Are you working now? If so, are you saying you can not make the monthly payment because you do not make enough money? Have you looked for a P/T job to supplement your income?

 

If working (or unemployed) and just do not make enough money and need time to look for another P/T job you can put into forbearance and make the interest payments while in forbearance as not to accrue additional interest, then just pay monthly payments after you find supplemented income.

 

Then you also have the option to do a payment according to your income, you would have to call them and or fill out the forms online at the Sallie Mae website. It would require you sending in your tax forms and things of that nature I believe.
