student loan deleted

Hey everyone,

I have a student loan that i'm making payments on now, but i deferred it last year in august. For some reason the gave me a 30 day derog that i been trying to get rid of because i talked to customer service at the time i was deferring them and they said it wasn't a problem to defer and i wouldnt be penalized., well they still marked it on my CR. Anyways i disputed it through TU and when i checked my TC reports it was deleted from my TU report. It only had 1 year of history with it but it was for $21,775 . My score droped from 691 to 682, is it even worth trying to get back on my CR's?

I'm just concerned because it is my biggest student loan and if i decide to buy a house or something that debt isn't being reflected on my TU report? thanks anyone..

Re: student loan deleted

I think it's probably just a boo-boo and will come back on its own.

If you're concerned, however, you can contact the lender, let them know and ask them to investigate.

If not a boo-boo, they might have taken the GW as a dispute ... and since they have to report disputes to the CRAs, the CRAs might be responsible for taking it off your CRs.

When you dispute a collection account, it stays on and is still factored into your FICO score. However, when you dispute a TL (and a SL would qualify as a SL), it's temporarily removed while it's being investigated.

Whoops! Just re-read your post! You DID dispute it with TU, so the latter portion of my post applies.

Since you disputed an actual TL (rather than a collection), it's been removed while it's being investigated. Once it's verified, it will come back.
