I was at an 813 equifax score, I had 1 inquiry for a joint account added (this joint account doesn't even show up on Equifax! It shows up on TU and XP.)
Nothing else changed on my credit besides this 1 new inquiry on EQ, and now my EQ score is a 746.
I only have 2 inquiries in the last 2 years reporting on Equifax.
Can anybody tell me why my score dropped 67 points?
When does your score bounce back from an inquiry?
I know I shouldn't be complaining too much, but I worked hard to get to 800+ and POOF, it's gone with 1 little inquiry!
Inquires are only suppose to hurt for 1 yr and report for 2yrs.
Maybe since you are over 800, they didnt have much to pick on you for, so they ding you hard for a inquiry....not fair is it.
The inquiry didn't do it. Do you still have access to your EQ FICO report that shows the 813? If so, compare both FICO reports side-by-side. I'd look at the culprits in this order:
1) Look at the +/- factors listed on pages 2 or 3 of your two reports. What changed?
2) Look at the Credit At-a-Glance page. Compare both of those. Did anything change and do you see any red flags that weren't there before?
3 )Look on the Accounts summary page. Did anything change?
