Re: -14 points for utilization going from 1% to 0%

Just to circle back on this.  I let the 6.00 report and as of this morning, I got all of my points back on all 3 reports.

Yup, all it takes is a non-zero balance to report and the no revolving credit use penalty goes away.

Re: -14 points for utilization going from 1% to 0%

I had heard that having a charge card is good for your score(credit mix), so I went ahead and got one. But I haven't seen any case for this, it shows up as revolving and never shows a CL etc. And sometimes it doesn't report a balance, so to some it may look weird? I'm guessing creditors know what the account is, but wouldn't be privy to your internal limit.

Though I guess it technically doesn't matter what balance reports, as it does not affect utilization?

Due to a larger than usual expense, I've had to carry balance a couple cards the last several months. Which brought me over my 4-5%, I was so proud of, so I either need to pay it down or increase my current overall CL. lol

While I want my percentage back, I can't quite justify paying it back before my 0% promo BT rate is over.

Amex usualy reports new accounts by the third statement.

What I learned from this is that whatever balance Amex reports on NPSL cards does not get factored in to utl.  I guess that can be good and bad depending on how you are using it.  I just know that I can't use it in AZEO.  This was the first time I have ever let it report a balance since I got it in 2011.

@FicoGuy2019, the Experian 98 family of scores does count charge cards toward utilization. The "limit" is the card's high balance. The classic Experian score from this family is one of the mortgage scores. If you're applying for a mortgage you may want your NPSL cards to report balances of zero.
