Re: 4 Year Old Account

Closing an account has no impact on your FICO score with respect to age of accounts today.  The impact would only be felt 10 years from now when that account falls off your credit report.

You could close a 25 year old account today or a 25 day old account today and both would have the same (zero) impact on your FICO scores today.  This of course is only looking at the age of accounts factors, which don't change and doesn't take into consideration any potential utilization change associated with the closing of the account.

Company in question not bank is a problem so I thought about closing up the account with the bank because it's line of credit that can only... Be used with their chosen company brand what I can say is the bank is amazing 3k credit line but the company doesn't have a USA based call center... So it's always a headache placing an order or even canceling any order placed I'm disapointed in the company not the bank for selling out the call center. Thanks! BBS for your response in the math I did on the paper here near me I'll just keep it open and order once a year as the account the company has things I can use so it's not a waste in the least bit... Issue call center hired people that don't understand a word of english not to mention they are unable to use the proper tools on their end to find your account Smiley Wink
