I had a similiar situation, TU and EQ deleted an acct I disputed with Asset Acceptance, but after 2 months EX had not. I sent copies of the letters showing the removal from TU and EQ to EX. Within 2 weeks EX had removed it as well. I also had to send a copy of a current util bill and valid ID. My question is did you dispute this info, pay the balance or were you just waiting for it to fall off?
Chances are if you did not pay it or dispute it,the derog may show up again. Especially if it was not due to be removed until 2010.
What is the DOFD on the OC account?
That is the date that controls any dispute of when a collection must drop from your CR. FCRA 605(c).
If the DOFD was improperly reported to a CRA, that is the date they must use.
Maybe it is not correctly reported to each CRA?
I have the exact situation - disputed an Asset Acceptance collection with all three bureaus. It was deleted immediately from Equifax, and TU deleted after about 5 months of disputes, but it still lingers on Experian. When you mentioned that you had "sent copies of the letters showing the removal from TU and EQ to EX, that they deleted - which letters did you send? Did you send them copies of your disputes where it showed "deleted"? This is one of the last baddies I have on EX and would like to see it gone!
