Currently I'm sitting at AZEO with 3 bank cards in total.
Greendot-$5/1600
NFCU MR-$0/5500
NFCU CR-$0/2400
I've charged quite a bit more this month on my NFCU more rewards card and may not be able to pay it down to $0 like normal. What kinda hit to my scores can I expect if I allow a balance to report on the next statement which is the 14th? I can pay the more rewards to 28% utilization. The reason I'm asking is because I want to apply for my 3rd NFCU card next week after my statement cuts and I close on my home, but not if I'm going to get dinged a lot a points by stopping azeo and by having a card report at 28%.
current TU9 is 690 since I know that's what they pull.
Tough to say, as it can vary from profile to profile. The single account at 28% utilization may not impact your score at all, but moving from 33% of revolvers with a balances to 67% will more than likely hit you slightly, maybe 6-10 points. I would suggest paying off that $5 balance on your other card and have it report $0, which will return you to AZEO.
Thanks for replying. I wish that was an option but the statement doesn't cut before I need to apply for a new navy card.
Do you know if they'd do an off-cycle reporting for you? If so you could pay it off today, then in 2 days or so have them off-cycle report the account to the bureaus with the new $0 balance.
I'm not familiar with that lender, so I don't know their rules regarding off-cycle reporting requests. Some will do it any time you ask (like Discover) and others won't (like Amex) but there are plenty of examples of lenders that will do it if you get in touch with the right person.

Hi, I think you misunderstood the question. I really didn't have the money to pay off the balance...only to 28%. But if I was going to lose a ton of points, then I would sacrifice something else and pay it off. Has nothing to do with off-cycle reporting.
thanks for trying to help anyway .

@Anonymous is talking about your $5 Green Dot balance.
Brutal answered you, probably just not in the way you were expecting. If you're below 8% overall utilization at the moment, and the NFCU MR card reports 28% utilization, what will that make your overall utilization? If it goes a little above 8% there will be a hit, but it wont be as much of a hit as say going above 30% overall utilization. It really is truly hard to say how many points that is, because it will certainly very person to person.

Yes my suggestion is to essentially switch the AZEO card. Since you now have non-zero balance reported on another card, you can take the [$5] balance on the original AZEO card down to $0 in order to move from AZE2 back to AZEO. On a 3 card lineup, moving from 67% of revolvers with a balance to 33% of revolvers with a balance can be quite meaningful, especially on TU/EQ.
