Does this do an inquiry on the person I'm adding? Does score drop for new account?
Any downside to adding my wife as a AU to help with her credit as well? (assuming balance stays below 9%)
Thx in advance... These forums are great! I'm glad I found out about them, they've really helped me refocus and see the light at the end of the tunnel.

There will not be an inquiry on the person's account, however it will show up as a new account on their CR when it reports. No downside on addiing her as an AU as long as you stay current on the payments and keep the util low.
Thanks Quips, appreciate it.
I had added myself as an AU to my spouse's account.
No inquiries. My score increased significantly, because of additional credit history added to my account. It also increase the average age of my accounts, because they used the date on which the original account was opened.
As long as you make sure there are no lates and low balance, adding her is more likely to result in a score bump for your wife.
