Any idea how much this 'Collection' is hurting me.

I finally had my Amex AU added but was surprised that I 'only' went from 655 to 694.

I checked and freaking Midland had added a 2 1/2 year old umpaid $1700 collection from a 6 1/2 year old account to muy efax. this after I had DV'd them and they IGNORED me and added to efax to punish me. I'm doing a variety of things to counter this, just wondering if anyone can estimate how much this is hurting me score wise?

Only other baddie is a paid collection and a 6 3/4 year old cap1 CO. Otherwise good recent account and a 37 year old history.

Let's see if this helps you out. I just had a collection account added and my score dropped minus 30 points. But they illegally did it because it is part of the bankruptcy.

Sad to say, collection agencies buy lists from the CRA's to see whose scores are rising, presumably reflecting a concern for good credit. They run these names through their databases to find anything at all that they could try to collect on, and they pounce.

It is NOT a coincidence that members who have been working hard on their credit start seeing these people coming out of the cracks. Kinda like roaches.
