Are you kidding me, TransUnion?

One. Freaking. Point. Short.

So maybe December, maybe.

I really thought this was going to be the 700 club week for real.

Re: Are you kidding me, TransUnion?

Is your profile data identical between TU and EQ? While a 35 point variance isn't unheard of between bureau scores generated using identical data, it is very rare.

Re: Are you kidding me, TransUnion?

TU seems to be sensitive to multiple cards reporting even small balances.  Points gained in short term could come from util change if you can.

Re: Are you kidding me, TransUnion?

It's not you.. it's TU.. !

Smiley Happy TU has always been my lowest score, except when I was 18, for some reason, it was the highest when I was young with no credit. Right now, my TU is 704 and my highest is EQ at 724. Seems to consistently keep a large range like that for me.

Nice to know about the multiple open balances from other comment, I've recently reduced balances so that I'm using fewer accounts vs. taking advantage of zero interest rates on multiple cards, etc..  It has definitely made a big improvement in my scores. Not sure that's smarter, I have a better score, but I'm probably paying more in interest. Pretty sure there's a political reason behind that, but I'll keep that to myself for now.

Re: Are you kidding me, TransUnion?

None of my bureaus are even close due to weird old accounts existing on one but not the other two.

TU hasn’t an unpaid tax lien from 2010 and about 10 inquiries all in the past 8 months or so.

I expect to be 760ish for EX and EQ by spring but TU is probably stuck around 710 cap until lien goes away.

Frustrating because everyone pulls TU for me seemingly.

Snagged Amex BCP tonight for $2K and thank goodness they pull EX.

You don't have to pay interest to have a better FICO score.  Once the balance reports, you should PIF.  The score benefit comes from the reported balance, not carrying a balance.  Also your goal should be to have one card report a small balance, as much as a few bucks should do it.

More often than not, a single dollar will do it:

I agree that no interest needs to be paid in order to achieve the best possible FICO score.  I think the opposite is a common misconception.
