Authorized User Accounts

Could a MyFico Rep answer this question? I know as of the Fall of 2008, authoirzed user accounts were no longer counted in the formulatin for FICO scores. I want to know if that is still the case because I thought i read something different where they were changing it again and those accounts would be counted. Will someone please clear this up for me?

Re: Authorized User Accounts

Aus are counted in scores, as far as we know.  They were never dropped - the plan changed
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Re: Authorized User Accounts

While FairIsaac has developed a new scoring algorithm referred to as FICO 08, and is now marketing it to some extent. the old (current) algorithm is still in effect.  It is up to their customers to decide whether or not to lease and use it.  The three CRA models are based on the old algirthms, which incude scorng for AUs.

FairIsaac also develops and sells market-specific algorithms, such as those for mortgage lendors.  If a particular creditor doesn like the inclusion of AUs in their credit evaluations, they coulod decide to switch over to FICO 08, but I have seen any reports of this being done.  It is no all or nothing.

Re: Authorized User Accounts

FICO 08, when it comes out will accept AU, as long as it's determined it's not piggybacking.
