Thread Update:
Got my AU Amex a couple of weeks ago, and it's now showing on my credit report (dropped my revolving utilization from 70% to 46% 
). Anyway, it shows on my credit report as having been opened in 1/12, which has lowered my AAoA. I had an Amex Gold in 2006 that I closed in good standing, and thought I would call them to see about backdating to that date. The CSR had no idea what I was talking about, and offered to refer me to the credit bureau unit. Before I make the call, would someone share if this is the right place to ask this question? Or if not, do I just call the main number again and speak to a different CSR? I don't want to call somewhere I shouldn't...
