Okay, I'm done with Credit Check Total. I haven't pulled a report from there in months because all of a sudden you have to speak to someone to cancel. I tried canceling the other day and they said I'd be on hold 20 minutes. I called today (day 7, so I have to do it) and my hold time is estimated to be 30 minutes. Ugh.
I get monthly TU and EXP scores...I get a EQ score from DCU but it isn't 08 like the others.
Consider yourself fortunate. I called last week at exactly 7 a.m. when their offices open and I waited 90 minutes before I could cancel. Just last night I noticed someone post an alternate number that allows you cancel directly outside of office hours but I don't know if it still works.
I'm not sure CCT really cares -- providing FICO scores costs more than $1, and they give it twice so it's even more expensive.
If anything, they will probably increase hold time for cancellation in the future.
I cancelled by email a few times.
Oh I'm sure they don't care. If you give up or forget to try again, they get $29.95.
There are work-arounds for all of these issues.
Regarding the hold time, don't cancel via phone. Cancel via email. Help at CCT dot com. Just provide them with the same info that you give when you cancel over the phone... name, last 4 of social, zip code, DOB. The email is time stamped, so as long as you send it in under 7 days you're fine.
Regarding being charged the full membership price if they don't cancel you within 7 days, sign up using a pre-paid card/gift card that has a $25 or less balance on it. I have one that I use ONLY for CCT $1 trials. That's the card I have on file with them. If they ever do take too long to cancel me (or if I forget) I can't be charged anything more than that original buck.
I had to wait for more than 45 minutes to cancel my membership but I do have to agree with other posters, where else can you get the most up to date fico scores from all three bureaus for $ 1.00.
Now my question is if i'm planning to sign up again this week to get the up to date fico, can I do it or do I need to wait like 30 days or something? The reason why is because I'm expecting some paid off accounts to be updated into fico system. I want to get the most up to date score before deciding to see if I'm going to apply for another card then head for the garden. Interested in either Penfed or USAA since it seems like these two are likely to give higher SL than the big banks.

I called they said my wait was over an hour so I hung up. I sent an email 3 days ago and haven't gotten a reponse. But I didn't include all the information that you stated so I just sent another email.
Thanks for the card idea. I can't be bothered getting a prepaid card, but you made me think of something better. Privacy . com website or application lets you make cards for free. The idea is just like what all these banks are rolling out, use another spoof card number to protect your account security. You can make a card on their app in like 3 seconds. The cool part about it is you can enter exactly what dollar amount limit you want the card to be able to go to, or you can set it to one-time use so it's useless after one charge.

No need to wait. You can do several $1 trials during a single month. Remember with each $1 trial you get one 3B report/score pull on Day 1 and then get another 3B report/score pull on Day 7 - Day 10 (your choice). So, if you think you're going to want to pull your scores on the 15th of the month +/- a day as that's the day you believe your reports will update, you could either start your trial on that day OR start your trial on say the 8th, then you could use your second pull any time from the 15th-18th.
I just thought of something. It's funny that we're considering whether CCT "cares", but CCT is really Experian. Experian just made millions on top of millions of dollars from everyone freezing their credit due to the EQ breath.
While the above may be true, that doesn't change the fact that CCT loses money on $1 trials. I would think any company definitely "cares" to some degree about a product/service that they are losing money on. I mean, it's their choice that they offer $1 trials, as it's their choice that they allow people to "abuse" the system and get an infinite amount of $1 trials. I'll raise my hand and say I'm probably more guilty of it than anyone else out there, but I do recognize that they do probably not enjoy the fact that I cost them money.
