Cleaning up report

Question about cleaning up report.  I have a lot of old Student Loan accounts that were transfered and should be removed because it has been longer than 7 years since the last update.  All of these accounts are classified as "Accounts in Good Standing" even though they are inactive.  I want to clean up the report and delete them all -- will this have a negative impact on my score?  Should I just leave them all since the balance is "zero".

Thanks!

Re: Cleaning up report

Do you have any other accounts (tradelines reporting) on your credit reports?  Auto loans, mortgages, cc's etc.?

Re: Cleaning up report

Why remove them? As long as there are no negatives on them
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Re: Cleaning up report

Deleting accounts that are not negative can hurt you. Be sure to read the Credit Scoring 101 thread.
