it's been a looooonnnggggggg road.
Credit scores can fluctuate like blood pressure. Thats just the way it is. You'll get them back, maybe.
I'd say give it a little time. 4 points really isn't that much of a drop and over time things will level out a little bit. All changes are not necessarily from ONLY the item that caused and alert. I think you'll be ok and continue to grow from where your score is
As others have said, scores can fluctuate based on stuff that's tough to monitor.
Zeroing in on what you can actually see, maybe your utilization went up just enough to cause a ding. Or maybe you have a greater percentage of accounts reporting balances.
Also, you don't mention the credit bureau. It's possible that the other bureaus will react differently to whatever has changed.
As an example, this is what happened to my scores in the past couple of weeks (based only on evidence I can easily track):
First event -- Two small balances were updated to zero, leaving a retail card as the only one reporting. Experian went down four points. I don't know how this may have affected TransUnion and Equifax.
Second event -- A major card reported a small balance (up from zero). The retail card still reports a balnace. Experian gave me back my four points, but I lost five on Equifax. TransUnion stayed the same.
This week, the retail card will report zero. I'm thinking I may get my five Equifax points back, but I'm not so bold as to make a prediction as far as the other two scores. And of course, as everyoine emphasizes, that's all provided nothing else changes, such as accounts or inquiries getting older.
