Collections Payment Options....

I have 10 accounts in collections and 2 judgements against me.

1) Which will help my score more, paying off the judgements or the collections?

2) When I pay off the collections, should I pay off the earliest ones first or most recent ones first?

3) If I have 9 small collections that total $2k and 1 very large one that totals $2k by itself, is it better to pay off the 9 small accounts so that I'll have 1 collection left for $2k, or should I pay off the 1 big account leaving 9 small ones?

4) Any other opinions on how to most quickly raise my score?  Should I pay off 1 each month, or all at once?

Re: Collections Payment Options....

Strictly speaking, paying any of them off won't help your credit score.

What you can try and do is get the creditors to do a pay-for-delete. I'd start with your most recent derogatory entry. Check to see if you're still in SOL (with judgments, you automatically are, unfortunately). If you are in SOL, make sure that you have the money to pay in full (never enter into any agreement to pay in installments) and start negotiating.
