Collections Removed and Score Update

So I have my final collection removed from Experian and Equifax.  I checked my FICO scores and one has gone up one point, and one has gone down one point.  When I had other collections removed it jumped 20 - 50 points.  Why no jump for the last collection?

Re: Collections Removed and Score Update

Okay,

Now I'm really confused.  I checked my TC and the last collection has been removed from there.

So the good news is that I now have 0 collections reporting.

The bad news is that it dropped my FICO score 13 points.

So with the last collection deleted my scores changed -13, +1, and -1.

Any help on this?

Re: Collections Removed and Score Update

Rebucketing would be my guess.

Search for "buckets", "rebucketed", or "rebucketing" and you'll have a full days read.

Side,

Thanks for the response.  I have heard of rebucketing.  Is this a bad thing?

Re: Collections Removed and Score Update

Rebucketing, in the short run, could look like a bad thing from a scoring standpoint. However, in the long run (as you get fare better with others in your bucket), your scores will have a chance of getting better than they would've in the old bucket.

Re: Collections Removed and Score Update

Could it also be possibly due to age of the ca's? Or, for instance, what if it's an old account and one of the oldest ones on file. Do ca's count in average age of accounts?

Just curious as I've read others discuss this and I wonder if that plays a part in it for the original poster.

No.

From what I've read: PR's and ca do not count against your AAoA unless they were related to a line of credit. For instance, a co on a cc would count.
