I received an alert from Equifax today that my FICO score had increased from 669 to 675. Of course I did not receive an alert from My FICO yet and from recent history, i doubt i ever will receive an alert for this. I decided to pull my credit report since the Eqifax service offers unlimited free credit reports. The items affecting my score are
Hurting your score
Collection
Short account history
Recent collection
Consumer finance acct.
The collection and recent collection is a medical bill i am disputing. The short account history is because for some reason Equifax does not have the same long history as TransUnion does.
Is there anything that can be done about this?
I have never seen the Consumer Finance Account noted before....
open accounts i have are
Home Depot Card
Best Buy card that use to be a Chase Circuit City card and is still reporting as Circuit City
Macys
Citgo
Citibank card closed accounts are a joint account i had with my ex-husband - Capital One but it is in good standing
WFNB - Boston Interior card with $1000 balance but the account is closed because Wells Fargo is no longer doing business with Boston Interior. I tried to have Wells Fargo keep the account opened and not associated with Boston Interior but even after speaking to a supervisor i did not have any luck.
I also have installments listed that are student loans with Sallie Mae and a car loan with a credit union.
I do not know which two accounts are considered the Consumer Financae Accounts. Does anyone know?
Is there a list of these accounts so people know not to apply for them unless they are aware of the negitive affect on their FICO score.
