Credit Card UTI and Fico Score

Let's just assume John Smith has 5 credit cards with 1k CL. He spends X amount of money each month on every card BUT pays the balance before statement cuts and leaves  ONLY 1$ to report for CRA's. He has no other debt. How would it affect his Fico score in 12-18-24 months? Also, let's assume very few new inquries will appear (because some institutions just feel like doing HP anytime) and all payments are on time. What do you Forum Mates think about such scenario?

Re: Credit Card UTI and Fico Score

If we take your hypothetical as is, there is no starting point with high utilization. The file is already optimized with $1 of reported balances. Apparently no recent HP to age off, no new accounts to age?

Therefore, at 12, 18, 24 months there would be just a normal gradual increase in FICO score (nearly imperceptible month by month) as the most important factor in FICO scoring continues to build up:

More months of no missed payments.

if you wanted a specific score, well, if there's no baddies in the past, then high 700's are likely, with that many cards, some built in presumed aging, and no missed payments.

if the file has missed payments or a BK in the past, then all bets are off as to where the score goes. It likely goes up some, but depends on the extent of the negatives and when those actually age off the calculation completely.
