The age of the account is not 21 years it is & years. From the reading of the trade line shown look like the acocunt was closed and or charged off in 1997 or both,. it was opened 1990 the age of account stops when it was closed.

No, it doesn't. If it's on the report, the age is counted from whenever it was opened to now, whether it's open or closed, clean or not.
(Sorry if I misread your post. I was a little confusing.)
Haulin,
You did read my post corectly.
So I opened an Excel spreadsheet and put my 13 credit card accounts in. I used two columns one using actual time on the closed accounts and the other to present day.
I calculated the time upto my last my FICO credit report. The actual time calc comes out 10.9 years and the present day on closed comes out 17 years or 16.6 years. The credit report from My Fico says 13 years neither method so far derives the same number.

Are you calculating open and closed accounts? You would want to included every account listed on your report, open or closed.

+1...open or closed, good or bad. CO'd or positive. Basically, all accounts in the Accounts page of your FICO report. Closed date doesn't matter. And reminder for all, AAoA is always rounded down to the nearest whole number (for FICO purposes). So, a 5.9 yr AAoA is 5 yrs.
Yes all revoloving accounts are included which is my whole credit report. I do not have installment or other loan types. if someone wants the math problem i will post the info in a very generic form like CC 1 and the date opened.

Are every single one of these listed on your Accounts page? And are 12 accounts showing in your Credit At a Glance page?
Are there any others listed on your Accounts page not listed in the above? If so, you'd need those too (e.g. old closed loans, old COs, etc.).
Is the CC listed as an open acct type dated 5/2006 listed in the Accounts? If not...ignore it.
Using your May report, and using May as a basis for calculating AAoA as opposed to August....

CC#11 | 1/1/94 | 5/1/11 | 208 |
CC#12 | 1/1/88 | 5/1/11 | 280 |

Total Accts | 12 | ||
AAoA | 14.5 | ||

I came up with an AAoA of 14 years as of May and your account history at 29.
If that open account with an open date of 5/2006 is indeed showing in your Accounts page making your total number of accounts listed in the GLance page at 13 versus 12, then your AAoA is 13 years (13.8) vs. 14.
Fast forward to this month, your AAoA for the 12 accounts is 14 years (14.8) and your AAoA if you include the 13th TL just turned 14 years.

That's what I got also but my formatting isn't nearly as pretty as yours.
