Determining Scorecards

I keep seeing references to clean scores cards, dirty scorecards etc.. I understand that the scorecard you are placed in can affect your upward limit on what scores you are able to obtain.

I was just wondering if there was any way to determine what level of scorecard you may be in and if there is a known list of what these thresholds are and how you may be able to plan to improve? I'm sure getting rid of baddies, making all payments on time, etc.. will only help you to be placed in a higher one, but not sure what all you should be thinking about and trying to manage.

Re: Determining Scorecards

I found a thread that had a breakdown on this from some of our gurus like FinStar and Remedios just this morning. I was interested in the same thing. It looks like it’s a trade secret but as with anything, when bright minds sift data and observe, some good guesses can be made.

Here is the thread:

https://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Understanding-FICO-Scoring/Buckets-Scorecards/td-p/5069914

There are some good suppositions in there, such as that 30 lates won’t necessarily bar you from all of the clean cards, and that serious derogatory like 90/120 lates will put you in the dirty cards for sure. It’s a good read - might help draw out some of your own ideas too.

Re: Determining Scorecards

Some of the material ABCD2199 provided it mentioned FICO 8 Scorecard A, Scorecard B, Scorecard H, etc.
What does this mean?
I've Googled them repeatedly but can't find an answers.
