I have a dirty scorecard (Ch 7 discharge 2/2019 and a cc chargeoff in 2023), so gains have been limited.
i have a 3.5 year old mortgage (at about 90% now). My car is down to the last 6 payments. I'm not sure how many cards I have reporting because I haven't really had a strategy with UTIL, just trying to pay down debt. I'm at about 25% overall. Maybe 3/12 or 4/12 cards. And 2 INQ
I can't figure out what caused the jump, but I'll take it! Hoping to hit 700 soon.
Slow and steady wins the race.

If you want to make your score go up know the utilisation is key. I'd look at both aggregate and individual utilisation as one near max card can pull down a score pretty hard. If you don't need credit anytime soon, focus on paying off/down that card obviously.
Do you have history of missed/late payment? How old are your accounts?
Congrats on the increase.
Not enough info to provide an educated guess on what changed to boost your score. What does it show if you click on more detail?
Hey there @MrsCHX!
How old are your 2 hard inquries?
What was your "before" utilization? You suggested that your "after" (current) utilization is 25% and that you've been paying off debt, so presumably that has been dropping. Is there a chance you were previously above 30%? How about your individual cards? Have you taken any single cards down significantly, like a big payoff on one?
congratulations!
whatever you're doing, keep doing it.
Found that around Fico Land there are percentages related to installment loans. When my car loan crossed those percentages the Fico Score increased. You mentioned your car loan and that too could have affected it?
Some additional info.
As I mentioned, I wasn't tracking util so I don't know what the total now vs then was. I have 3 cards reporting balances that are high: 70%, 74% and 79%. Other regular use cards may have reported small single digit balances, but those are paid off immediately. I have now created a debt payoff plan for the 3 cards (not through any entity, just refiguring my budget, dropping expenses, and my pay increased).
I have two INQ: 10/2025 and 12/2025
I have 4 new accounts: July, Aug, Oct 2025 and Jan 2026. Otherwise, my oldest account is 23yrs 3mths and my AAoA is 10yrs 4 mths
I have a history of late payments on my student loans that are now paid: Multiple NelNet accounts with last late payment 10/2019 and 2 loans that were through my University last late 10/2021.
The chargeoff is NFCU and they update every month.
I've always read on here that dirty scorecards are handled a little different on UTIL. I have done AZEO in the past or balances below 9% and did not see significant jumps. Just a few points here and there.
Yes, Fico presentations indicate signal strength of utilization is muted on dirty scorecards. Poster data on dirty files, as a cohort, aligns with Fico's presentation.
Aging of derogs are potentially contributing to your boost. A decrease in number of accounts with balances helps as well. Not sure if that's changed for you.
Fico aside, paying down those high CC balances as a priority is commendable.
