So I got alerted here and see that EX dinged me 2 points for high UTI on my BBVA cc which I did a balance transfer on? TU moved me up 3 pots & EQ up 5 pits, what the heck? Some DP's
$2500 SL Cap1 balance $0
$1,000 SL Amex balance $0
$1980 SL Credit1 balance $0
$2,500 SL BBVA balance $2,000
$3,000 SL NFCU balance $888.00
surely this is temporary?
"EX" didn't ding you, the Fico algorithm did. You're at 80% utilization on that card, which definitely constitutes a scoring penalty. I would expect to see similar score drops from TU/EQ as well, although they could be diluted/not seen due to other profile factors changing at the same time.
The scoring drop(s) you are experiencing related to the high utilization card will remain as long as you carry that balance. With a BT offer, it's impossible to avoid it unfortunately. As you pay down the card though, your scores will recover and will return to where they once were before the BT once you get back to your original utilization amount. Utilization is a moment in time metric and has no memory.

I am surprised you lost so little, last time I had a single card report >80% my score drop was >20 points.....

I think OP just had other things going on with their file, possibly score-strengthening changes that absorbed some of the loss from the increased individual card utilization.
I do agree that the loss seems small though. I also believe the OP crossed 10% aggregate utilization with the increased utilization on the single card, so I would have expected a 15 point loss or so just from that related event.
