I went on an app spree when I saw my FAKO EQ score (USAA PLUS) hit 761. I just got off the phone with World's Foremost Bank concerning my Cabela'a CLUB Visa application and was told I was denied because my score is 608.
FAKO: 761, FICO: 608. Really? 153 point difference?
Crazy.

Yeah, it's not uncommon for there to be a huge discrepancy between FAKO and FICO scores. They have different scoring criteria, and you really can't correlate them at all.
What scoring system was cabela's using? Given that it's a visa it may likely be fico, but many lenders have/use their own scoring system - with a totally different scale. I was mortified when I got a letter from the local elec company saying my score was 417 but after reading further I found out it was their own score on a scale of 0-500.
OP, I recorded a high of 253, IIRC, between my TU FICO and my TU CC-enhanced TransRisk when pulled/provided the same day. Now it's about 80 different...for now.
