Equifax 648

Hi all. My name is Ethan. I have been reading these boards for quite sometime but now just ordered my FICO and can now post here. Yay!

Anyway, I'm only 19 years old, got my first credit card last year at 18. Currently I have cards with Capital One, Chase, Bloomingdale's, Macy's, HSN, Express, and PacSun. I'm always on time with my payments, but I do have high balances on 3/5 cards.

So my questions are...is 648 pretty good considering I'm only 19 and have only one year of history? Or is it in the pits regardless?

Also, if I pay my balances off and establish more history (lets say another year), could I expect my score to jump up to the low 700s or high 600s by next year?

Welcome to the forums!

Before we can answer your questions, can you post the credit limits and balances on each of your cards?

Pay your cards off if you can. Don't apply for anymore credit. Once you get squared away let one credit card report a small balance every month but pay it off entirely before the due date.
