Wow = quite a drop. Thanks SO much for sharing that info. And 18% seems so low, right? Wow.
Is that an EQ FICO score?
My EQ FICO dropped from 768 to 739 when util went from 7% to 36% with no other changes - A single $45K CC Check against a $46K limit card. That also gave me my only "maxed out" CC also.
I'm assuming that both your 1% and my 7% were in the first range and that your 18% is in the second range. My 36% could have been in second range or perhaps the third range.
GregB --- please define "range". Thanks
------> Utilization from under 1% to 18% no other changes.
If would be interesting to see if you would gain any extra points over 796 when your utilization increases from 1% to around 5% or 6%.....

65% utilization on 1 card. 13% on card 2. 21% on card 3. 3 out of 6 accounts reporting balances. Number 1 negative according to EQ Score Watch is Account Balances too high. Never saw that one before. LOL. 2 is recently looking for credit 3 is short account history. Only 3 positives I usually see 4.
Should be interesting to see if AmEx gives me a FR or goes for outright closure. Scissors at the ready.
I'm thinking that much of a drop might be caused by the increase in utilization AND half of your accounts with balances. Did you have less than 3 out of 6 reporting balances when your total util was 1%? I have substantial hit to my score when I have 12 out of 23 report balances.
I doubt 728 would make Amex uncomfortable but I wouldn't push it any further.
