I have a question about inquiries I saw on my EQ report. Under the category of inquiries that may be affecting your score, I saw the usual suspects such as my credit cards and auto loan. But I also saw some things I didn't expect. For example, my cable company and my bank where I have only a checking account and no other loan or CC. My question is, are these actually affecting my score?
In addition, I noticed that reports list all of my auto loan inquries but I know that the score should only be impacted once if they all fall within in a certain time frame (14 days I think). Is this reflected anywhere on the credit report?
The FICO score treats auto, mortgage and student loan inquires differently than other inquires. With Beacon 5.0 which is what you receive here all inquires made for an auto loan within 30 days is treated as one inquiry. The older models of the FICO score like the TU score that you received here you have 14 day time span. The newer model of the score is not availible to consumers anywhere. I would ask Equifax what the permissable purpose is for those other inquiries. The permissable purpose is the reason the creditor pulled your credit.
