My Transunion score is about 30 or 40 points better then my Equifax score. I noticed that Transunion has one more account on file. It has my Bank of America account, and an old Bally's Fitness account. However Equifax only has Bank of America, not Bally's. Why is this? Does this mean Bally's only uses Transunion not Equifax? Is there a way to even up these numbers or is it normal to have slightly different scores? Also, the Bally's account is from like 3 years ago, the BOA is from 7 months ago. So Equifax says I've only had 1 account for 7 months. However Transunion says I've had 2 accounts for 3 years. Maybe this is also making the different.
Equifax just seems to have much less information on me. It doesn't even have my previous address on file.
I'm a newbie. Thanks in advance for any help.
Welcome to the forums!
You've got it. Your length of credit history and your average age of accounts is much higher on TU because of Ballys than it is on EQ. Basically you have a 3 year history as opposed to a <1 year history. And 7 months for a new CC is pretty recent too so that's dragging you a bit further. I wouldn't fret though...you don't start with insta-credit and it takes time to build a lengthy profile.
You could call Ballys and ask them to report to EQ too. Some OCs do not report to all 3 CRAs. Maybe Ballys is one of those. There might not be anything that could be done but if Ballys is open and you are paying on time, then it might be worth a phone call.
EQ doesn't have your old address because your BofA CC reported your current address and if you got the BofA after you moved, then there is no way of knowing of your old address by EQ. It has no impact on your credit whatsoever and I wouldn't worry about it.
Wow, thanks for the quick reply! That makes sense. These forums are great.
Welcome.
To add just a little to what llecs said it's the norm and not the exception for the two scores to be different. My TU score is 39 points less than my EQ with just a few differences (that I can find).
From a BK years ago to:
EX - 9/09 pulled by lender 802, EQ - 10/10-813, TU - 10/10-774
