Experian - Credit Reporting Issues - Bankruptcy

Got my latest credit report yesterday and have been pouring over it with a fine tooth comb and noticed some issues with they way Experian is reporting my charge-offs.

I have about 3-4 charge-offs (Cong Fed Credit Union, Home Depot Credit Card, other cards, etc) which had no lates up until the time of my filing for bankruptcy (June of 2019).   Experian lists them as CO for 6/2019, but they also list them as 90 days late.   I have no idea how that is possible when for instance, with one card, they show my payments in March, April, May as "OK" (meaning not late) and then the CO in June, but then in the older derogatory events section, list 6/2019 as 90 days late.

Is this something that is a quirk for Experian or should I dispute this?  The issue is that for 4 out of the 5 accounts, they only are showing up under Experian (TU and EQ are not reporting information).  I don't mind the CO (since that's accurate) but don't feel I should be penalized further for 90 day lates when in fact they weren't 90 day lates.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

If the dates of the lates are 1 day past the filing date. Thats a no no. No negative info can be placed on a Credit Report after filing. If you have it documented. Contact the OC first. If they dont budge. Then dispute. If that doesnt work then contact the CFPB. Good luck!

Re: Experian - Credit Reporting Issues - Bankruptcy

@FireMedic1  Don't mean to highjack, but what you said is relevent. So my seven years since my BK13 discharge is right at 90 days away, and I have two baddies still mentioning IIB on TU and EQ. One CU LOC has the date of being late as 5 months after filing BK. Based on what you said, it sounds like I could dispute it, but would it be worth it at this point? That same baddie was changed last week on EX to say charge off the month of my discharge in 2019. I disputed and the file was removed completely. About the same time, EX dropped BK from public record (other baddie dropped on EX several months ago), and EX score soared over 100 pts. Based on that, I'm tempted to dispute. I disputed something similer w/ that CU a few years back, and thry wouldn't budge. What do you think? pros/cons? TU drpped BK months ago, but EQ will hang on until the last month based on info here.

Thanks.

Hang in there and be one of the less than 33% that make it to BK13 discharge. It is a great feeling of relief. The alternative is going right back to where you started.Smiley Sad
