Experian score drop 4 points with a CLI....Why?

New to the myFico family and hoping to get some information about something reporting on my Experian account.

I had a CLI on one of my retail CC, it wasnt much of an increase...150.00 to 350.00. The balance on the card is 0.

This morning I got a Alert from My Fico that it detected a change in my Experian data, so i logged in to find that my Experian score drop 4 points. When I checked the info it say, Credit Increase 150.00-->350.00.

Does anyone know why the score would drop from a CLI? My understanding of the FICO game is that the score would stay the same or increase.

This is confusing, please help???

The short answer is myfico doesn't alert based on everything that changes your credit score.  Something else changed to cause the decrease.

You can search the forums for other posts with the same symptoms.

Hello and welcome to the forums.

Did you request a CLI or did the issuer make the decision on it's own?

If you did make a request do you know if the CCC did a hard or soft inquiry on your reports? A hard inquiry almost certainly would result in a score drop of a few points.

A CLI on your reports should never affect your score. FICO doesn't look at available credit; only the percentage of available credit being used at any one time.
