FAKO vs FICO scores

I am new to the boards and have noticed that some of us post FAKO scores and some post FICO scores. I am confused about the 2 so I decided to Google the info. Contrary to what I have been told in past posts, this was what I found out. I feel scammed in purchasing my credit score based on something that is "just a guess".

Here is an excerpt of the article as well as the entire link:

This column is about the difference between the Fair Isaac credit score--FICO--and the ones supplied by the credit bureaus, which we call FAKO scores. Equifax's ScorePower, Experian's PLUS score, and Transunion's Credit score are just the credit bureau's guesses at what your FICO score should be.

Re: FAKO vs FICO scores

It's my opinion that it's not even that. They are not even trying to say that it's a best guess about your FICO (in fact, they can't even do that legally). It is a money-making opportunity for the CRAs, b/c they know people are concerned about their credit these days.
