I understand that the scores reported by CK, Credit.com and Creditsesame/Quizzle are all FAKO's and VantageScore 3.0
According to those models e.g. Creditsesame and CK have my TU score at 718 while myFICO Score 8 is at 621.
Credit.com has my EX at 674 while myFICO is at 637.
This is confusing and I think I read somewhere that Chase uses the new VantageScore 3.0 model, if so can I apply for a Freedom card? I've never dinged Chase.. ![]()
My file is pretty disgusting:
Multiple 30-day lates on closed accounts/open accounts
Multiple 60-Day lates on closed accounts
One 120-Day late on charge-off
One Paid collection (the 120-Day charge-off card) (I didn't know this forum existed, so I paid it off in a hurry thinking it would save my score)
The good:
Current UTI is at 2%
Good mix: 1 Auto Loan (Current and never late) and 1 Installment loan (Paid off)
INQ: 4 (EX) 3 (EQ) 2 (TU) all during end of 2014 and early 2015
Have been paying on time for last one year
No missed payments since April of last year.
Added CL of $4,000 from Jan '15.

VantageScore 3.0 is not only a non-FICO score but uses different credit scoring data and differs substantially on what data is used.
Specifically, VS3.0 uses payment data as well as balance data that is reported. Payments that are > 2x the minimums are associted with lower risk (higher scores). Also Paid collection accounts are ignored by VS 3.0 just as they are by the new generation of FICO: FICO 9. Paid or unpaid collections are both treated as strong negatives by FICO 8 and earlier.
As for Chase using VS 3.0, They may be looking at it but I don't believe it is used. The only way to be sure if a bank uses a particular scoring model is if it is disclosed as a result of an application. I haven't run across anyone reporting it but you can google VantageScore and Chase to see if anyone has reported VanrtageScore usage.
