FICO Simulator Range

I have a question regarding the Fico Simulator with regards to the ranges.  It states if I pay down my untilization I could be in the range of 626-666.  How does the simultor determine which end of the range your score would be in if you take the corrective action?  I'd like to get in the upper end of the range ASAP.

Thanks for anyone feedback...

Re: FICO Simulator Range

I always figure the middle figure, so 646 in your instance.

They give a range because there is always Stuff happening on your reports. So for instance, during this interim, you could get a new card, or an old account could fall off and change your length of history, and so forth. The range gives wiggle room.

My thinking is that if you go with the median, you'll know that it could be higher or lower. If you fixate on the higher number, you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

Went from 777 to 767 for $18 balance being reported on one CC and the simulator says my range is 767 to 787 to PIF.

LOL the simulator would have a great future in weather prediction.

Re: FICO Simulator Range

Thanks so much, you were right... it was pretty much in the middle.  654!  Yeah!  Getting closer... not much else to do but allow time to put that 30 First Premier late behind me which was last year December.

Oh, and the closing of my Chase (Old WaMu) didn't help the cause.  At least it did go up as it was only 634 when I asked the question.  So I got 20 points with the closing of Chase and lowering my Util.
