In the last week, I've gained 11 points on my TU FICO score for a "BankCard" that's being reported with an unfamiliar balance. There's no institution name on the account, it's simply identified as "Bankcard" i.e. "The total balance on your Bankcard account(s) has changed." Under the "Type" subsection it's simply identified as "Bankcard" with no bank name or lender next to it. The balance is >$1000 and it's unfamiliar as I don't owe that much on any of my CCs or anything of the sort. I called MyFico to see if they could give me more info and they said that they couldn't identify the account as there was not enough info. They told me to call Transunion (which I did) and TU says they can't find an account in my name with that balance. I'm gracious for all score increases at this point, but this is worrisome to me because this balance is reflecting on my TU FICO and I have no earthly idea what it is or where it has come from, and neither TU or MyFICO can either. Any suggestions?
I believe this is a MyFICO grouping of all of you bankcards. Or at least that is what previous posters have said. The total balance should equal the total balance you have on all of your other cards. But if I remember correctly, it didn't match with the previous poster.
You should be able to ignore it.
I would suggest you go ot www.annualcreditreport.com and get your credit report from there. Use the exact same information that was used to pull your myfico credit report. See if the account shows on that report. If it does it might have more information on who reported. the trade line. During the process of pulling your credit they will ask you fi you want yuour credit score say no.
