I see people quoting their Fico score on this forum all the time. They say my score is this, my score is that.
What exactly are they quoting? Is it the average between Transunion and EQ? Their lowest? Their highest?

I can only speak for myself. My TU and EQ scores I buy from myFICO and my EX score I got from a lender last year when I applied for a car loan.
From a BK years ago to:
EX - 9/09 pulled by lender 802
EQ - 7/06-663, 3/10-800, 10/10-813
TU - 8/10-772
You can do the same thing with hard work

Hi MVV:
I'm refering to when people quote just one score. For example, "my score is 654". "My score is 719".

Oh I see. I misunderstood what you were asking.
I will go away now.

Their mileage varies. Some quote a score and reveal later on that it was their EQ from SW. Some do the same if subscribed to TUQM. Yet others have a FAKO, and know as much. Finally, some pull a FAKO, think that it's a FICO, and learn later on. Whenever there's a score question, I'll make it a point to ask for clarification as to where the score came from.
Good question, UpNUP
Technically there is no such thing as "a" FICO score. Fair Isaac does not actually do the credit scoring. They license different algoritms to the three CRAs, who then, baed on the flavor of algorthm they chose to license and the individual content of your credit file with them, run it throgh their licensed FICO algorithm and then produce their own FICO score.
My guess is that most people who refer to "my FICO score" in the singular are referring to their EQ score, because they have Scorewatch. At any rate, it often seems to be that, once we drill the poor posters down.
A surprising number of people think that Equifax owns FICO.
edited in what is no doubt a futile attempt to avoid confusion
