Fico Scoring

What is the difference in "A" credit veruses "B" credit. I was told that I had "B" credit somewhere recently and I wondered what that means in terms of the fico score (the actual number). For example is "A" credit a fico score 700 or better?  If so what is the range for a "B" credit score?

Re: Fico Scoring

"A" credit is considered prime by lenders...normally for mortgages you now have to have 680+ now for prime loans.

"B" is sub-prime and means the score more than likely was below 680.

Re: Fico Scoring

Many lenders use "tiers" or levels.  My CU has A+, A etc.

The higher the better

720 ish is the cutoff for many lenders
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Re: Fico Scoring

The Vantage score [boo hiss] assigns a letter grade to scores also.

Re: Fico Scoring

This is also true...and those run on a completely different score range.
