Fico Smico

I just don't get the FICO scoring.  I've been getting alerts (twice) that an account/negative item has been removed from my report (TU).  I do not have an entire account that is seven years old, I may have a month that had a late on it, but not an entire account.  Could that be what they are referring too?

I'm just tired of the yo yo of the FICO scoring.  I've just decided to not worry about it and maintain what we are doing and not worry about the yo yo unless there is a big drop in the scoring.  Our first goal is to get them all over 700 and that will take a while, so we will just keep gardening and use our credit as wisely as possible! Hopefully the scores will settle in and raise slowly and stop dropping.

Re: Fico Smico

The notifications you see on MyFICO are highly summarized titles, and given the or option, yes it could be one payment being removed. Unfortunately if the item is not fully expired, it may come back. It depends how the bank is reporting or updating it.

In the long run, as long as all future payments are on time, your scores will be on an upward trend. There can be minor reductions for certain actions like a new acccount or increased utilization but over time, good payment history is always your goal.
