Fico score impact....Inquiry falling off after one year

It is my understanding that an inquiry will impact your FICO score for one year. I have one inquiry which was made 1/10/07. I assume it will fall off my EQX report now but I have received no notice on my Credit Watch Score as of today. Will it effect my FICO score when it is taken off and how long does it usually take? Thanks.

I thought it stays 2 years but only affects score for 1 year.  Any FICO experts confirm or refute this.

Marty56 is correct.  Only inqs within the most recent 12 months count in the score, although inqs within the most recent 24 months appear on the report.

i sent eq a letter in the mail, disputed inqs. took them all off but one. i havent had any luck with tu or ex..

(may impact your credit) eq, cap one, open a cc with them on 8-12-07 put the cl on my old cap cc, closed the 8-12-07 card. they took off that inq...gemb, 4-25-07 took it off. hsbc(orchard) closed it , orchard sucks, 11-14-07 inq, took it off..,,,3 out of 4 were taken off..i just disputed them as not mine..i did it with tu, but sent me a letter saying i had to write to the ccc my self. havent tried ex yet..... with eq, i had to mail them the dispute, cant do it on line or on the phone ..
