You can see the effect and why. Nothing else has changed across my accounts, no other statement updates, new CC accounts nor the newest NFCU Auto re-fi have updated yet. This is it! Please help me understand. Thank
You are assuming a cause and effect between the substance of the alert and the score tacked on to the alert. They are in fact unrelated.
MyFICO alerts don't provide reasons for a score change. There are certain events which trigger MyFICO alerts. If there happens to be any difference between your present score at that particular bureau and the previous score reported to you from that bureau, the score change is tacked on to the alert. There is not necessarily any connection at all between the score change and the alert substance.
MyFICO explains this in the "learn more" link contained in the alert:
Why did my score go up when I got an alert for something negative (or why did my score go down when I got an alert for something positive)?
The short answer: Your FICO(TM) Score may change because of other events not monitored by an alert.
Whenever we send you a credit alert, we also send an updated FICO Score. To ensure you get the most current score, we calculate it based on your entire credit report at that point in time - not just the new information on the alert. This means your new score may reflect other changes that are outside of the things we watch for (see everything we monitor).
Sometimes you may see your score increase when you think it should've decreased, and vice-versa, but you'll always have your most up-to-date and accurate score."
Morning Follow up. It is True that other things behind the scene were in play on my CS crash. Collection account showed up, filed an FTC Identity Theft report and working with Experian in Dispute to remove it ASAP. For further update, The closed Indigo TL just reported to my EQ bureau and my FICO8 dropped 10 points. Thats acceptable, those points will come back when my additional TL's post. So, I'll wait for them to Post before I close the other Subprime Tradelines. Thank you for all those that chimed in with advise and clarity. I'll update this thread with a score update once that Collection account is removed, hopefully in a few days. - Cheers
This is getting even more aggravating, Hopefully someone can learn from this experience. My Transunion just alerted me, drop in score of 70 Fico8 score from this Collection Fraud account. Time to open the dispute with them now, and wait for my EQ to Crash. Unbelievable. I may need to start a Gofundme for Bail fees, I may catch a flight to Cali afterall.
