Re: Help with mortgage score increase!

I most certainly gonna do my best to bring utlization down to the lowest possible. I'm first going to bring it down below 28% and work my way to at least one of the two cards to zero. Hopefully in 3 months I should bring it down significantly. Thank you

Re: Help with mortgage score increase!

When you aim for 27%, make sure you do that "evenly" on each card, i.e. bring each card down to that level. That puts you below the threshold for both overall utilization and individual card utilization. (Individual card utilization is determined by the card with the highest utilization.)

The next step (if you're able) would be to pay off one of the cards entirely, keeping the information about trailing interest in mind. The last step would be to make the one remaining positive balance as low as possible, but not below $5.

Re: Help with mortgage score increase!

That sounds like a good plan, I would do that first, both my cards are high, I need to bring them down individually while total utilization to 27% and lower.. Such great feedback, thanks for your help

Hi, I agree with paying the cc's down to zero and let one report a small balance. And your score will never reach it highest point with any derogs.

Re: Help with mortgage score increase!

Op, I think most of the great advice needed here has already been given in bringing down your utilization, and moving forward with the GW campaign to get the Chase account taken care of. As BBB mentioned, keep trying over and over. The truth is it may never work. However, there are many examples of people, including myself, getting them removed after several attempts. It can't hurt you, so you have nothing to lose, unless you do not try. You never know!
