How can I get my score up considering this...

Hey all. Question here. I have a score of about 705, last I checked. I have pretty clean credit except for a 30 day past due mark, and a relatively low account history of an average of 4 years. There isn't really anything I can do about either... so what do I do to get my score up? Just wait? The 30 day past due mark is an unfortunate mistake. I took out a loan for a friend who couldn't get the loan on his own. He's the one who missed the payment, and now it's effecting me. Is there anyway to get that taken off? Thanks for your help! Ted

GW, can drastically improve scores if excepted. Don't give up, keep sending them until excepted.

Try to avoid taking on new TL's if possible to let your current ones age.  How is your UTIL? It helps tremendously if you can keep it in the 1-9% range.  Do you have many hard INQs in the last year?  If you do, you'll get a couple of points bump up as soon as they fall off.

How recent is the 30 day late?  They won't have nearly as much impact on your score once they are 1-2 years old.
