How can you tell when something will drop off?

How can you tell when a bad account will drop off?  I've read people make comments when a bad score will drop off with the exact day when it should happen.  When I run my report through this site I don't see anything like that.

Thank you.

The free reports you can pull from annualcreditreports.com will have more complete information. Transunion and Experian list the dates when accounts are scheduled to drop off. I pulled mine about a month ago.

Thanks for the info, I found the drop off date!  I am just aghast at how long it will take.  Does this make sense?

Did you first fall behind in summer of 2007?

Re: How can you tell when something will drop off?

I think it went into collection in 1997, because I took out these student loans back in 91-93.  I paid them all off in 2008.

Re: How can you tell when something will drop off?

They are saying that you took out the loan in 1997 for a 3 year term for $12/month or $432 in total. Looks like the US Dept. of EDU is saying that you took out a short term loan then. I know zilch about SLs but is certainly worth looking more into. If you want me to move this thread to Student Loans, then let me know.

Re: How can you tell when something will drop off?

I think I will just invest a little dough in finding an attorney to take a look at this and tell me once and for all what I can do.  I would like to make it disappear, but I am hoping that my responsible credit practice for the past 3 to 5 years in additional to the years forward it will negate the badness of these ugly blemishes/open sores on my credit.  I am looking forward to my next utilization reports, it's going to drop from 75% to 0%.  I just paid off everything on my credit cards.
