to see what the increase in my score will be? I have recently received an email from equifax and checked the results of a dispute I filed. Per the results, they have deleted a collection. This was the only negative thing on my report so I'm hoping it will make the score go up a decent bit. How long will it take before this removal impacts my score. I'd hate to pay to pull a new FICO score now or in a day or so only to see no change becuase it hasn't yet taken effect.
thanks
That's what I thought may be the case. What do you make of this? I have the score watch product and it is supposed to be monitoring my credit to let me know several things. I would think this removal would have given me an alert--one was if I hit a target. I had my target at 712 since that is my current score so I thought that if the score moved above that it would give me an alert?? Also, I have it set so that it will alert me if I get a better interest rate--need 720. I would think that the removal of the collection would give me at least the 8 pts needed since that was the only thing?
Is the score watch lagging you think?
SW does lag by up to a few days it seems. You should have received a free copy of your EQ report following the dispute. I'd look at that to confirm. Or try pulling a copy again directly from EQ to confirm. I've made a mistake many a time by pulling a FICO report only to get disappointed because the item wasn't yet removed or an account updated.
BTW, the interest rate model on the FICO reports isn't absolute. I've seen some in here get super low rates (under 5%) with scores in the low 600s.
