How many points for a removed CO?

Hi CreditNOOB and welcome to the forums.

The thread you responded to is several years old so I've split your post off to start a new thread. All I've changed is the title.

Hey guys im new here, and to forums.

quick question,  i just got a charge-off of 180+ late charge

and 4 months straight of Collections/Bankrupcy

off of my record. the bank/equifax messed up and thought it was my account and so they fixed it.

needless to say. i got all that stuff off of my record.

my questions were. 1. how long will it take to update on equifax

and 2. by of much my credit will go up. my score is at 265 right now.

thanks in advance (:

If it was equifax's error then it should be resolved very quickly;   if the bank sent the wrong information to equifax then it might take several days, weeks, or longer, depending on when the bank sends in their updates.

Yeah that is very bad timing....sorry to hear that it is causing trouble for you when you are trying to buy a car.

Do you have a contact person at WF who can tell you when they will have it deleted, or did they just send you a letter ? The good news is that as soon as it is gone your score will bounce back to where it was previously.

Re: How many points for a removed CO?

I'm not one to recommend products, but you seem like the ideal candidate for myfico Scorewatch. You get a 14 day trial. Chances are, the item will delete in that period and you will know (instead of guessing) what it does to your score. If it isnt removed by 14 days, you can pay for 3 months and you will get an alert when it is removed (the alert won't be for the removal itself, but you will get an alert when your score jumps as a result). Then, if the bump is enough, you can head to your auto dealer and negotiate from a position of strength. All of my deletions that were initiated by the reporting company have come off within 48 hours. The one I disputed through equifax itself took a month.
In wallet: Ink Plus 10k, AMEX TE 25k. In bag: CSP 16k, USAA WMC 15k, Hyatt 13k, United MPE 12k, AMEX HHonors 3k. In SD: Cap 1 QS 5k, Discover IT 7k. FICO 08 says my EQ is now 844, was 510 in 2010.

to pizzadude and Cdnewmanpac

Yeah, there sending me a letter expidited*

so it should be here within 8 days now.

i called the credit people that denied me for the loan the first time and i told them that im getting legal documents sent to me by wells fargo stating that

changes have been made to the error on my credit.

and i also told her that i was looking into a car that was a little more that 3k dollars cheaper and she said.

"Ok, what you wanna do is take it to the dealer when you get the document have them run your credit again blah blah blah"

pretty much saying ok well you have documents stating this then we might (most likey) will be able to do something for you *hopefully* lol

soo... :/    im crossing my fingers because i would LOVE to have a new car i've never had a a car with AC, Heater, or Defroster... let alone a New Car...

As to how many points you will gain, there's no telling but a co removal is major

Hey, you mentioned that your score was 265? I'm assuming that's a typo.

I just had a CO and 60-lates removed and my score went up 11 points. I was hoping for more, but was happy to see some progress!

Congrats !!   you should ask them your score since they likely just pulled your credit again...
