How to get expiring/ed item off report

I have a Cap1 CO from 2001 on all three reports. When I purchased direct from Experian last year, it said remains on report until September (assuming means drops off then). How do I make sure it does fall off, what type of 'dispute' do I use?

I also checked on the other two, it says DOLA is 12/01, which is wrong, it was much earlier. I did get docs from them at some point but it was 3 statements from 2/02 to 5/02. It was clear from the amounts that it had been over/delinquint for many months, as the limit was $300 and by then it was several hundred dollars, and each statement showed Finance, Late and Overlimit fees which if you back extrapolate puts it at just about August of 2001 (thus the 9/08 removal). How do I dispute and how do I confirm?

Experian does it's maint on the 1st of the month-

If EQ has a DOLA of 12/01 they won't remove until Nov 1.

Re: How to get expiring/ed item off report

My experience has been that EX does the maintenance during the first weekend of every month.   For September, since the 1st is on a Monday (i.e. NEXT Monday), the maint. won't be done until the following weekend.

So, if you are waiting for items to fall off, don't pull EX until Sept 8th (2 weeks from today).

For October, the 1st is on a Wednesday, so the following Monday (10/6/08) would be the first day to see next month's update.

EQ and TU have DOLA simply as 12/01, no day of month. Is the assumption then 12/01/01 and the removal 11/01? If I pull on 11/01 and it is there how do dispute? Not Mine? Retired?

On the other hand, not sure why Experian shows as 'until' 9/08. This does not show up on MyFico or TrueCredit, I guess I'd have to repull from Experian directly. In any event, if that is what they have on their own file, can I count on it falling off by mid-September or do I need to be (sigh) pro-active with this too?

BTW they blew off my Credit Attorney's request to Pay in Full and remove. TOTAL idiots. A $300 card with $1500 in Late/Over/Finance charges about to fall off and they turn down offer to PIF a month before it goes by-by.

Re: How to get expiring/ed item off report

TU usually shows a fall off date. Nothing showing as this items drops on...?

EQ shows Date of First Delinquency. That's the date to count from.
