Re: How to increase score

Officially it was 4 inqs, but only one was for real credit.

And I assume TU and EQ use different fomulae for computing, so a combination of the two made the difference.

That and TU likes me, EX hates me and EQ is somewhere in the middle.  Smiley Happy
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

I agree with your ranking of the three CRA's  I have noticed very few creditors pulling TU in hawaii where I live.  The breakdown is roughly and I mean roughly:

EQ 70% of the time
EX  20%
TU  10%
An can you guess which of my CR's has the most inq's: EQ 6, EX 3, TU 1

Re: How to increase score

I live in NJ. Ex was the least pulled just Orchard and AMEX. My Nissan loan was totally TU. GEMB pulled EQ Walmart Sleepys and 6th Avenue Elec. Nearly all the CCC's and CU's pulled EQ exclusively. AMEX triple dipped. It varies from region to region to be sure.

Re: How to increase score

I was applying for a new credit card. Credit line increases did not result in you getting a pull or a request to look at your report. Careful with AMEX. Lots of people are getting reviewed on their ability to carry such high lines of credit. Some people are even getting flagged for asking for cash advance line decreases. Make sure you don't rely on only one company for your credit needs. Spread it around.

I only carry 2 credit card with total limit close to $30 K and I spend 2 K each month, I think when I increase each month credit line( I am not going to use it ) but it will great improve my balance to spending ratio-utlz , I just apply for  personal loan from citi for 6 K for 60 month so it will look very good on my credit report that I have 1 installment and pay each month

I am getting consfused: you suggest if I am increase my credit line in Amex also increase in Citi so the limt will be close to each other? I use citi as well American Express on the same time to have similar balance . Is 2 K to much spending? Should I go with 1 K?

you mention" Some people are even getting flagged for asking for cash advance deacrease" you mean Credit card company dont want decrease they cash advance line? also interesting question if I increase my cash advance will my credit score go up or down?

Re: How to increase score

Cash advance limits with ccc not reported on credit reports. Yea, its great about Amex. They don't even ask income half the time. As long as you pay it back, they give you more.

Amex is great as long you do not make a single mistake.  I opened a Blue card in 12/05 with a cl of 4.7k and just kept pushing the luv button.  As of today I have a cl of 17.5k.  It seems that they really focus on your payment history with them more than anything else.

Depends on the ccc, they all have their own underwriting.  From my personal experience, Amex and FIA (formerly MBNA, now BOA) has never done a hard pull for cli's.  They just ask if your income has changed but do not demand you verify it, look at your payment hisory with them and then their computers start thinking and it says, give the sucker a cli beacuse we stand to make money off her/him.
