Oww you need 71 points. Inquiries will drop you 20-30 for 1 year. And if they use non FICO inquiries can count up to 2 years.

What is a non FICO enquiry?

Re: How to increase score

There is no such thing as a FICO inq. An inq is simply hard or soft.

Re: How to increase score

If I am correct only you can see soft pulls. They don't show up to other lenders. And definitely don't hurt your score. What I am not sure about is, if lenders have a choice of soft or hard, they can pull your full report either way. So a hard inq is a deliberate ding not to see your report but to tell others they did. ??

Re: How to increase score

According to myFICO:

  • Inquiries that don’t count toward your FICO score.
Your own credit report requests, credit checks made by businesses to offer you goods or services, or inquiries made by businesses with whom you already have a credit account do not count toward your FICO score. Credit checks by prospective employers also do not count. These types of inquiries may appear on your credit report, but they are not included in your FICO score.

Right... let me rephase.. only you can see soft Inqs and to see soft Inqs you have to get your report directly from the CRA.. Makes sense as MyFICO only cares about items that affect your score (which is why you don't see Inqs over 12 mo old on your MyFICO reports).. I think many people would agree that if it doesn't affect their score they could care less. Us addicted people are the exception.. Smiley Happy
