Hurt or help?

A year ago I was looking for a home improvement loan. I attempted to get a first time hom buyers grant but was denied because I didn't have a mortgage. I was referred to PNC bank who was supposed to be assisting me in getting a low cost loan, but I later found out applied for several conventional loans. The end result was 4 or 5 inquiries and hits to my credti rating. My credit plummented from 608 to 584. I eventually recieved a low interest weatherization loan and have been paying that regularly. Is it worth it to write to Tran/Ex/Eq, explain the situation and request that be counted as one inquiry? My credit scores have slowly improved (640). Will this help or hurt me?

Re: Hurt or help?

After a year, those pulls aren't affecting your score at all, even though they will still show up on your report for two years. Most of the effect is in the first six months. So no need to pursue it.
