Hey y'all,
I've seen a couple of threads now from folks saying they were able to get INQ's removed. Now, maybe they were errors, but I'm curious is anyone has ever tried to GW an inquiry from their report, and if that's not it, how do you get them off (aside from waiting, of course).

Once again, without intending to, I managed to derail a post--oops!

I still don't think it's a good idea to mess with inqs, but I'm also curious how people get read of them, if they're legitimate, I mean. Naturally, if they're bogus, they need to be challenged and flushed PDQ.

I don't think its a good idea but you can remove inquiries. You risk a possible loss of good tradelines and fraud alerts. It can be done but all things considered it is not worth the game.

Oh yes! This is VERY true!

DH is a corporate pilot, and flyers have a saying: There are old pilots, and there are bold pilots, but there are very few old, bold pilots.

Keep that in mind when considering major reconstruction of your credit reports!

Re: I gotta ask...getting rid of INQ's?

Disputing an inq that has a corresponding TL can end up biting you in the butt and here is why. Since you are trying to remove what is in all likelihood a legitimate hard inq, if the CRA for some in apparent reason is unable to verify this inq, they have to delete it and so might go the TL...bye bye.

Re: I gotta ask...getting rid of INQ's?

Earlier I have sent 2 letters to 2 Vendors and they both removed the Hard Inq. Just yesterday, I have sent 45 GW letters to remove inquires.  It was lot of writing and took me few hours to write them and mail them. Let us see what happens in the next few weeks.

Be especially careful with EX: many times they will not remove inquiry but slap an Extended Fraud Alert on theirs and every other CRAs. It will take months to remove all of them.
